My son had a similar injury when he was 2 and ran into a door (that his sister was closing) I do remember the craze of the moment !! it was early in the morning. I am impressed you got a photo. !!

I hear ya loud and clear! Mornings suck in our house and I swear they are only getting worse! My kids are 11 and 6 and for some reason they think the clock stands still and they have all the time in the world. Its crazy that on school days its a battle but on the weekends they get up no biggie! Thank God for coffee!

Yes it is sometimes hard to over come knee-jerk reactions to tough situations. I am bad for the “band-aid” solutions that often result in more grief. My husband, or voice of reason, as he’d like to be known, has made me realize that a new puppy is not what our family or I need right now. Time will tell when it will be right to introduce a new member, but for now we are living with the empty place Macy leaves behind.

That is such a hard question to answer. I think seeing my kids in pain I would want to do everything to help them heal, but puppies are such hard work and with all you are doing that just adds a lot. I guess I’d at least give yourself a month to see how you all do and then decide. Maybe the spring or summer would be a better time and at least with summer there are other distractions for the kids.

Thank you so much for your kind words! It will take time to adjust to not having her here, but time will not heal the sadness i feel for her loss. Still life must go on and with 3 little ones pulling me forward, that is much easier to accomplish. i know that we will add another dog to our family in the near future, but for right now i am healing from this sudden loss.
